Three spots to read a book in Paris
The sun is still shining and giving warmth, as we move into Fall.
If you are looking for new spots where to soak in the last of the warming rays in Paris, then check out our three favorite spots. Have you been? Let us know what you think!
Jardins du Luxembourg (VIème) - a classic! The cast iron green chairs are instantly recognizable, and just invite you to sit back and enjoy the beauty of the park. They are available all over the gardens and the places to perch and lose yourself in your book are countless: by the beautiful fountain, where wooden model boats are sailed, by the newly renovated Fontaine Médicis, or alongside one of the tennis courts.
Square Saint-Gilles-Grand-Veneur (IIIème) - totally hidden from the street, this haven of peace and beauty is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the streets of the Marais. In season, roses bloom everywhere, making it feel like one of the most romantic places in the city. It is bordered by beautiful 17th century town houses, that will transport you to another era. How to get in you ask? We couldn’t possibly make it that easy for you! Let us know if you find your way in..!
Coulée Verte (XIIème) - the original model for the High Line in New York! This used to be an old railway line, that ran along most of the East side of Paris. It stretches over 4,5km, offering a unique pedestrian experience in the city! It leads off to various gardens and squares, making you will feel like you are anywhere but Paris. If you are thirsty, there is a fountain offering both still and sparkling water to refill your canteen!
