LIDOtips - Garlic
With cold and flu season most definitely upon us (not to mention the other virus…), we thought we would help you out by telling you about the other pantry hero that you need to get working for you: garlic!
Garlic has long been used for its’ medicinal properties, and is packed with vitamin C, vitamin B6 and manganese.
It has been shown that taking a supplement or adding it significantly to your diet can help to reduce cold and flu symptoms. (We like it chopped, mixed in olive oil, and eaten on a cracker or some delicious bread.)
High doses have also been shown to improve blood pressure and cholesterol. Lots of other studies on the long list of benefits of garlic are underway, so we will keep you posted of any helpful and significant developments.
Not a fan of garlic breath I hear you complain?! Well don’t worry about that this season, because let’s be honest, none of us are going anywhere for the forseeable..
