Figs were said to be Cleopatra’s favorite fruit and if one of the greatest queens relied on them then here are a few reasons that you should too!
They are rich in fiber and other key minerals like magnesium, calcium, copper, vitamin K and vitamin B6. They are also packed with antioxidants. 💥
Fresh figs are low in calories, most of which come from its natural sugars. However beware of dried figs, which are calorie dense and high in sugars (which occurs in all dried fruits)!
Figs are so versatile and can be used in both savory and sweet dishes. You can also use their leaves in cooking, in the same way you would vine leaves. They are fantastic as part of a healthy diet.
Figs are said to help promote digestive, vascular and heart health. They are also helpful in managing blood sugar levels. Their benefits for skin are also being researched at the moment 💆🏻♀️
