Cranberry Sauce
It's that time of the year again... The time to plan your Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners! For these occasions, we're happy to share with you today a classic: cranberry sauce!
PS: make sure you prepare more for holiday brunch (a killer with pancakes!) and aperitivo (to complement an oven-baked brie 😉).
Ingredients (serves 8)
250g fresh (rinsed) or frozen cranberries
100g sugar
150ml water
cinnamon, to taste
nutmeg, to taste (but not too much as it can be very strong!)
Method
Place the water and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved
Add the fresh or frozen cranberries and simmer until they become tender, between 6-10 minutes if using frozen or fresh cranberries
Once the cranberries have burst, add the cinnamon and nutmeg
Remove the pot from heat and let cool completely at room temperature. The sauce will thicken as it cools
Note that you can keep the sauce in the fridge up to one week
