Nonna Knows Best - DIY Body Scrub
Are you still wondering why you should treat yourself to a body scrub?
Here’s why: scrubs help remove dead cells that have accumulated on the surface of the epidermis while promoting better oxygenation of the skin and stimulating micro-circulation.
The skin always better absorbs moisturizer after a nice scrub. Did we also mention that it will prevent and limit the formation of ingrown hairs?
What you’ll need
100g brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
5cl of olive oil
bowl
spoon to mix
a towel
Method
Pour the sugar into the bowl and add the lemon juice and olive oil. Mix well
Apply the scrub on damp skin, preferably when showering, using circular motions to remove impurities and dead skin
Insist on elbow, knees and heels
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry with the towel
After the shower, apply a moisturizer
Tips
You can do this exfoliating treatment once a week to tone your skin
If you wish to prepare a bigger batch of this DIY scrub to use for a future homemade spa session, make sure you store it in a small mason jar and avoid any humidity or direct light
