Gluten & Dairy Free French Toasts
No gluten and no dairy for breakfast, please!
Having a strict diet can be a hassle for lots of us, especially when wanting to cook a yummy breakfast for other people also having their own food intolerances. Therefore, we're happy to share with you an easy recipe which will (hopefully!) content everyone around your table on a Sunday morning!
Ingredients (Serves 2)
4 slices of gluten-free toasts
2 eggs (if you are avoiding eggs, you can also use ½ a medium Banana, very well mashed)
120ml almond milk
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tbsp organic maple syrup
1 tbsp of avocado or coconut butter (or any other dairy-free alternative you enjoy)
Method
In a bowl big enough to fit your slices of toasts, add the eggs, almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and maple syrup
Add the plant-based butter to a medium to large pan over medium heat
Dip the toasts into the milk mixture on both sides, so that the bread is well coated, but without leaving it for too long as it could break
Place the pieces of toast on the pan (as much as you can fit) and cook on both sides until they have a nice golden color (around 2 minutes)
Serve hot, with fresh fruits (and/or spreads that your guests can enjoy!)
