Jane Smith, B.A.(Hons.)(London), M.A.(Kent), Post-Graduate Diploma in Research Methods(Southampton Institute), is a local historian, author and lecturer, living and working in Southsea. She has a particular interest in all aspects of popular culture and has made a special study of the early history of Hilsea Lido in Portsmouth (1935-1968). She also has an extensive reference collection of books, photographs, postcards, and ephemera of the site plus Lido lifestyle-related artefacts. In addition, Jane has published a book and a monograph on aspects of 18th century Naval history in relation to Portsmouth and Lord Nelson. Would you like to know more?
